BIDEN WITHDREW FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE

After weeks of internal party debates about his age, mental fitness, and ability to win the White House in November, Biden announced on July 21 that he was withdrawing from the presidential race and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as his replacement. Harris, who quickly gained the support of more than half of the Democratic delegates, thus reached the number of delegates required for the party's presidential candidacy. The Democratic Party's presidential candidate will be officially determined at the party convention to be held in Chicago from August 19-22.
