According to the data from the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), the highest employment last year was in the professions of unarmed security guard, tourism and hospitality staff, shelf clerk, confectionery worker, and waiter. İŞKUR aims to maintain and increase employment, improve the professional qualifications of the unemployed, reduce unemployment, and integrate groups requiring special policies into the labor market, continuing to mediate employment. In this context, last year, 1 million 453 thousand 833 people were placed in jobs, of which 555 thousand 921 were women and 897 thousand 912 were men. Among these individuals, 45 thousand were composed of disabled individuals. The number of people placed in jobs increased by 17.53% compared to the year 2023, when 1 million 237 thousand 26 people were placed in jobs. The highest placement occurred in Istanbul, with 340 thousand 689 people. Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 107 thousand 830 people, Izmir with 80 thousand 542 people, Bursa with 60 thousand 733 people, and Kocaeli with 58 thousand 489 people. Last year, the highest placements were made in the "manufacturing" field of the industrial sector. PROFESSIONS WITH THE HIGHEST EMPLOYMENTThe top 10 professions with the highest number of placements have also been identified. Accordingly, last year, 74 thousand 900 people were employed as unarmed security guards, 65 thousand 123 as tourism and hospitality staff, 53 thousand 327 as shelf clerks, 43 thousand 830 as confectionery workers, and 40 thousand 691 as waiters.
These professions were followed by manual manufacturing workers, market staff, sales personnel, call center customer representatives, and retail sales personnel in the food sector. THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF JOB APPLICATIONS FROM THE MANUFACTURING SECTORAdditionally, employers submitted 2 million 566 thousand 31 open job advertisements to İŞKUR last year. 99.1% of the open job applications came from the private sector. By sector, the highest number of open jobs was in the "manufacturing" sector, with 1 million 14 thousand 292. The "manufacturing" sector was followed by "wholesale and retail trade" with 351 thousand 502 and "administrative and support service activities" with 337 thousand 480.
