In Turkey, the sales of new residential properties increased by 97.3% in one year.

In October, a total of 165,138 houses were sold across Turkey. During the January-October period, total housing sales increased by 11.9% compared to the previous year. Details of mortgage and other types of sales were disclosed. The number of first-hand housing sales in Turkey increased by 97.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to the housing sales statistics for October published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), a total of 165,138 houses were sold across Turkey in October. Housing sales increased by 11.9% between January and October. The provinces with the highest number of housing sales were Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, while the provinces with the least sales were Hakkari, Bayburt, and Ardahan.

The provinces with the highest number of housing sales were Istanbul with 24,812, Ankara with 15,257, and Izmir with 8,658, while the provinces with the least sales were Hakkari with 76, Bayburt with 97, and Ardahan with 112.

HOUSING SALES INCREASED BY 11.9% BETWEEN JANUARY AND OCTOBER

Housing sales increased by 11.9% in the January-October period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1,112,374. The number of mortgaged housing sales in October increased by 278.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 21,095. The share of mortgaged sales in total housing sales was 12.8%. The number of mortgaged housing sales in the January-October period decreased by 31.9% compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling 113,405. In October, 5,167 mortgaged housing sales occurred as first-hand sales, while 26,869 mortgaged housing sales occurred in the January-October period.

144,043 HOUSES CHANGED HANDS DUE TO OTHER SALES TYPES

Other housing sales across Turkey increased by 63.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 144,043. The share of other sales in total housing sales was 87.2%. Other housing sales in the January-October period increased by 20.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling 998,969.

FIRST-HAND HOUSING SALES REACHED 57,679

The number of first-hand housing sales across Turkey increased by 97.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 57,679. The share of first-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 34.9%. First-hand housing sales in the January-October period increased by 20.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling 358,558.

107,459 HOUSES CHANGED HANDS IN SECOND-HAND SALES

The number of second-hand housing sales across Turkey increased by 66.5% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 107,459. The share of second-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 65.1%. Second-hand housing sales in the January-October period increased by 8.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling 753,816.

2,122 HOUSES SOLD TO FOREIGNERS IN OCTOBER

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 16.3% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, totaling 2,122. In October, the share of housing sales to foreigners in total housing sales was 1.3%. The provinces with the highest number of housing sales to foreigners were Antalya with 750, Istanbul with 724, and Mersin with 148.

In October, the highest number of housing sales by nationality was made to citizens of the Russian Federation with 373, followed by Iran with 172, and Ukraine with 136.
