In the Yıldırım district of Bursa, an individual who, after consuming alcohol, shouted "I have enemies" and climbed onto a metro pole, made both emergency teams and citizens sweat bullets for 2 hours. The metro transportation was halted and electricity was cut off due to the individual performing acrobatic moves on top of the pole. Some citizens applauded the spectacle, while others reacted against the halted transportation.

TRANSPORTATION STOPPED! ELECTRICITY CUT OFF

The incident occurred on Ankara Yolu Street in the Davutdede neighborhood of Yıldırım district. According to the information obtained, citizens who saw Mehmet A., who, under the influence of alcohol, climbed onto the metro pole shouting "I have enemies," immediately reported the situation to the police. Upon the report, numerous police, fire brigade, and medical teams were dispatched to the area.

To prevent a potential disaster, the teams cut off the high-voltage electric current on the metro line. While metro services were completely halted as a precaution, traffic teams also set up a security cordon on Ankara Yolu Street and managed traffic in a controlled manner.

PERFORMED ACROBATIC MOVES ON THE WIRES

Seeing the teams trying to bring him down, Mehmet A. played a game of hide-and-seek, as it were, with the teams, moving from one side to the other on the pole and wires. The individual, who at times displayed dangerous and acrobatic movements at heights of meters, made the hearts of onlookers skip a beat.

SOME APPLAUDED, SOME REVOLTED

The reactions of the crowd, who watched the incident as if watching a movie, were divided. Some citizens supported Mehmet A.'s dangerous moves with applause, while citizens who were victimized because they could not get to their homes or workplaces due to the disruption of metro services reacted against the individual.

BROUGHT DOWN AFTER 2 HOURS

When the teams' prolonged efforts yielded no results, a police negotiator stepped in. After the negotiator's persuasion attempts lasting approximately 2 hours, Mehmet A. agreed to come down from his location. The individual, brought down with the help of fire brigade teams, was handed over to medical teams amid the applause of the curious crowd.

Following the health check, Mehmet A., who was taken to the police station for his statement, was brought down, and electricity was restored to the metro line, and the halted transportation returned to normal.
