The rapidly increasing fuel prices, due to exchange rates and tax increases, will see another increase in line with the inflation figures for June announced by TÜİK today. DECISION PUBLISHED ON JULY 16, 2023With the decision published on July 16, 2023, by President Erdoğan, the fixed special consumption tax (ÖTV) amounts for fuel were increased by 5 lira each, and it was regulated that these amounts would be increased in line with the producer price index (ÜFE) every six months. FIXED ÖTV AMOUNTS INCREASEDWith the decision, the fixed ÖTV amounts for gasoline, diesel, and autogas were also increased by the producer inflation rate announced by TÜİK today. OVER 2 LIRA INCREASE FOR DIESEL AND GASOLINEIn line with the 19.49% producer inflation rate calculated by TÜİK, the fixed ÖTV amounts for diesel and gasoline increased by 19.49%, resulting in 8.86 TL for diesel and 9.45 TL for gasoline. The fixed ÖTV amount per liter increased to 11.29 TL for gasoline, 10.59 TL for diesel, and 8.67 TL for autogas. According to the news in Sözcü, with the addition of the 20% VAT, there will be an increase of 2.07 TL for diesel, 2.21 TL for gasoline, and 0.95 TL for autogas per liter. GASOLINE APPROACHING 45 TL IN ISTANBULAfter the ÖTV increase, the price of gasoline per liter will be 44.70 TL in Istanbul, 45.70 TL in Ankara, and 46.06 TL in Izmir. The price of diesel per liter will be approximately 44.60 TL in Istanbul, 45.63 TL in Ankara, and 46.00 TL in Izmir.
