The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the inflation data for the month of June. In June, inflation increased by 1.64% compared to the previous month, 24.73% compared to December of the previous year, 71.60% compared to the same month of the previous year, and 65.07% based on the twelve-month average. LEAST INCREASE IN CLOTHING AND FOOTWEARThe main group with the least increase compared to the same month of the previous year was clothing and footwear with 47.84%. On the other hand, the main group with the highest increase compared to the same month of the previous year was education with 107.11%. HOUSING HAS THE HIGHEST INCREASEBy main expenditure groups, in June 2024, the main group with the highest decrease compared to the previous month was clothing and footwear with -0.58%. On the other hand, the main group with the highest increase compared to the previous month was housing with 3.79%. INCREASE IN 103 MAIN HEADINGS INDEXOut of the 143 main headings covered in the index (Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose-COICOP 5-digit level), in June 2024, the index of 35 main headings decreased, while 5 main headings remained unchanged. There was an increase in the index of 103 main headings. The change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) excluding unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and gold was 1.90% compared to the previous month, 25.39% compared to December of the previous year, 70.40% compared to the same month of the previous year, and 68.25% based on the twelve-month average.
