President Erdogan's words, stating in his speech to the party group that new tensions are being stoked in the Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus, and delivering the message "Our response will be very clear and very harsh," resonated widely in Israel. In a statement on the matter, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used insolent language towards President Erdogan and Turkey.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made striking statements regarding the Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus during his speech at the AK Party TBMM Group Meeting. Stating that a new tension is being created in the region, Erdoğan said that if the rights of Turkey and Turkish Cypriots are targeted, a harsh response will be given.
"THEY HAVE BOARDED ISRAEL'S BOAT OF DISCORD"
Emphasizing that they closely monitor developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, Erdoğan stated that a "fire of discord" is being ignited, especially on the island of Cyprus. Claiming that some circles support Israel's policies, Erdoğan said, "Some petty structures, whose ambitions far exceed their stature, have boarded Israel's boat of discord and have taken on the subcontractorship of Zionism."
"OUR RESPONSE WILL BE VERY HARSH, AND VERY CLEAR"
Stressing that Turkey will not compromise its rights and interests in the region, Erdoğan stated, "Let no one seek adventure, let no one latch onto the tail of the Zionist murder network. If the rights and law of Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots are targeted in the Eastern Mediterranean, I want it to be known that our response will be very clear and very harsh."
INSOLENT REMARKS FROM NETANYAHU
While President Erdoğan's words resonated widely in Israel, a post containing insolent statements came from Netanyahu, referred to as the "Butcher of Gaza." Describing Erdoğan as a leader who "oppresses his own people," Netanyahu, referencing Erdoğan's support for Hamas, said, "The State of Israel and the IDF, the most moral army in the world, will continue their strong actions against Iran and its proxies, which threaten the Middle East and the entire world."
REACTION FROM COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR DURAN
Reactions to Netanyahu's insolent remarks came one after another. Communications Director Burhanettin Duran described the attempt of an administration that has killed tens of thousands of civilians in Gaza and disregards international law to give Turkey a lesson in morality as "impertinence," stating, "The targeting of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by those being tried on charges of genocide is one of the greatest inconsistencies in history."
MINISTER GÜRLEK: HIS INSOLENT WORDS ARE NULL AND VOID
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek also reacted to Netanyahu's statements. Gürlek used the following expressions:
"The insolent remarks of Binyamin Netanyahu, who rains bombs on children, women, and innocent civilians in Gaza and has been condemned by the common conscience of humanity, targeting our esteemed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, are null and void.
Netanyahu, who is a suspect in a genocide investigation conducted by our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and a defendant in the accepted indictment, attempting to target our esteemed President who defends human dignity is a complete mental breakdown.
Our esteemed President defends the righteous cause of the Palestinian people, the law of the oppressed, and the conscience of humanity in the strongest possible way. In contrast, those who remain silent in the face of the events in Gaza will be written into the dark pages of history.
Sooner or later, Netanyahu and his murder network will be held accountable for their crimes against humanity before an independent judiciary. Turkey, as it did yesterday, will continue to raise the strongest voice in the name of law, justice, and humanity today."
