Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci, who was in Syria for official contacts, visited the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. Ciftci recited the Quran at the mosque.
Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, within the scope of his contacts in Syria, visited the Umayyad Mosque after his meetings with President Ahmed Al-Shara, Interior Minister Enes Hattab, and Disaster and Emergency Management Minister Raed Saleh.
HE READ VERSES FROM THE QUR'AN
Çiftçi, along with his accompanying delegation, performed the afternoon prayer at the Umayyad Mosque and then read verses from the Qur'an. After chatting with citizens at the mosque, Çiftçi moved to the honor room of the Umayyad Mosque and listened to a Mevlevi performance unique to Damascus.
Minister Çiftçi visited the Tomb of Saladin in the Umayyad Cemetery and prayed. Çiftçi also recited the Fatiha and prayed at the graves of Turkish pilots buried in Damascus.
