The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against Hüseyin Baş, the Chairman of the Independent Turkey Party, on charges of 'insulting the President'.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation has been initiated against Hüseyin Baş, the Chairman of the Independent Turkey Party (BTP), for the crime of "insulting the President."

In a written statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that an investigation has been initiated against Hüseyin Baş, the Chairman of the Independent Turkey Party, for the crime of insulting the President. The statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included the following remarks:

"An investigation has been initiated ex officio by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of Insulting the President due to the remarks made by the individual named Hüseyin Baş, the Chairman of the Independent Turkey Party, during a speech at a party meeting on 22/12/2024, directed at the President of the Republic of Turkey. Information will be provided regarding developments."
