According to information reported by Reuters, Iran-backed Shia militias entered the country to assist the Syrian Regime Army.

THE ADVANCE OF THE OPPOSITION CONTINUES

The Syrian National Army (SNA) continues its advance in the Tel Rifaat district as part of the Operation Dawn of Freedom, which was launched to prevent the PKK/YPG's terrorist corridor between Tel Rifaat and Manbij. Clashes between SNA forces and terrorists holed up in Tel Rifaat are ongoing. As part of the operation, the SNA captured the villages of Shevergaelrız, Tennep, Malikiyye, Keffin, Kefernaya, Miskan, El-Cuz, Tatmıraş, Tel İneb, Mezeret Hamad, Zoyan, Maranaz, Algamiyye, Burcelgas, Minnığ, Telaccaz, Harabşems, Kutale, Ayn Dakne, Deyr Cemal, and Zukkebir, as well as the airports of Kuveyris and Minnığ and Zuyan Hill.

24 VILLAGES WERE SAVED FROM THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION

The SNA forces, which liberated the center of Tel Rifaat from the PKK/YPG, also cleared the villages of Sheale, Radar Sheale, and Neyrebiyye, which the organization used as a base in its attacks targeting secure areas. Thus, today, in addition to the district center, 24 villages in Tel Rifaat were liberated from the terrorist organization PKK/YPG.

OPERATION DAWN OF FREEDOM

With the launch of the operation against Aleppo by armed groups opposing the regime on November 27, Syrian regime forces cooperated with the terrorist organization PKK/YPG and ceded some areas to the organization. The terrorist organization began to fortify these areas after bringing reinforcements from the east of the Euphrates River to the Aleppo region. In response to preparations for establishing a terrorist corridor between Tel Rifaat and Manbij, the Syrian National Army launched the Operation Dawn of Freedom against the PKK/YPG. After the district of Tel Rifaat was besieged, the district center was liberated from terrorism.

THE OCCUPATION OF TEL RIFAT BY PKK/YPG

YPG/PKK terrorists captured Tel Rifaat and some surrounding settlements in February 2016 with the air support of Russia. The terrorist organization displaced approximately 250,000 civilians from Tel Rifaat and its surroundings, and this population sought refuge in areas close to the Turkish border. The YPG/PKK carried out attacks from there against Turkish security forces and opposition fighters stationed in the areas of the Euphrates Shield Operation and Olive Branch Operation. The terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which occupied the district of Tel Rifaat, tried to hold the district by cooperating with Bashar al-Assad's regime and its supporters. After the armed groups opposing the Assad regime entered the center of Aleppo on November 29, regime forces withdrew their elements from Tel Rifaat.
