A detention order was issued for 45 individuals in an investigation launched over allegations of irregularities in public tenders and direct procurement processes at Ege University. It is claimed that public officials and some company representatives provided benefits to certain firms and caused public loss, while simultaneous operations were conducted to apprehend the suspects.

In Izmir, a detention order was issued for 45 suspects in an investigation into the Ege University Revolving Fund Management Directorate and procurement units.

In a statement by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that an investigation was launched following allegations of irregularities in public tenders and direct procurement processes by some public officials and company representatives working at the university's Revolving Fund Management Directorate and procurement units.

ALLEGATION OF PROVIDING BENEFITS TO CERTAIN COMPANIES

Within the scope of the investigation, it was claimed that the suspects acted in an organized manner, provided benefits to certain companies, and thereby caused public damage.

Based on the findings obtained, the Prosecutor's Office issued a detention order for 45 individuals.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION CONDUCTED

A simultaneous operation was carried out by police teams to apprehend the suspects. It was reported that searches and seizures were conducted at numerous addresses as part of the operation.

It was learned that the investigation continues and detention procedures are ongoing.
