Is Giovanni van Bronckhorst leaving Beşiktaş? Words from Hasan Arat to put an end to the discussions.

13.11.2024 15:50

Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat made statements about head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Arat said, "I believe this difficult period will pass. No one should expect any changes; I have faith in the team and the coach. We are not a management that makes decisions on a daily basis."

Beşiktaş Club President Hasan Arat held a meeting with Turkish Football Federation President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu at the TFF Riva Hasan Doğan National Team Camp and Training Facilities.

"DON'T EXPECT CHANGE FROM US"

After this major summit, Hasan Arat answered questions from the press. Evaluating the team's situation in the league, Arat stated, "We have goals, the Beşiktaş community is hurt and sad. This team is a newly established team, they should support their team. We have a serious chance in Europe, the league is not over yet. They shouldn't compare it to last year; this team is not the same team. The traumas experienced in the derby caused psychological traumas. This team is capable of correcting that. We started the league well, we won the Super Cup... As an athlete, you can say that this will not continue like this. I believe this troubled period will pass. No one should expect any changes; I believe in the team and the coach. We are not a management that makes daily decisions. We experienced this last year. We went through a very difficult transfer period. Everyone is asking about our shortcomings. The departure of over 30 players was a serious process. We are very honest and transparent with our fans. This is not a short marathon; let's continue our way united together," he said.

In response to the question, "How would the points situation be if there were a fair management?" Arat said, "I don't speak differently inside and outside. There is no such profile of a manager at Beşiktaş. We expressed our grievances when incidents occurred. There was a breaking point in the derby. The Malmö officials asked us, 'What happened in the derby?' The VAR decisions in the Iceland matches take 1-2 minutes; why is it like this here? The derby is a breaking match; the intervention on Rafa in the Kasımpaşa match is a breaking point. Could they touch Rafa while he was running in the Malmö match? If Beşiktaş loses points when playing poorly, we do not make excuses, but if rights are being violated, Beşiktaş will seek its rights, and we are at that point today. I believe the president will take important measures," he expressed.

"WE ARE THINKING OF TWO TRANSFERS"

In response to the question, "Are you behind Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray in terms of squad?" Arat said, "It would not be right for me to talk about the squads of other teams. It was very difficult for us to let go of the foreign players we have. We plan to send off two players and bring in two players during the transfer window. We trust our squad, but we also know our shortcomings. A breaking point occurred in the derby match, and I believe this breaking point can be repaired. No one from the outside should get excited and say, 'There is a void in the community,'" he said.

"WHY ISN'T IT LIKE THIS IN EUROPE?"

Speaking about the mistakes in referee decisions, Arat said, "The public is watching the matches in Europe. Do such things happen there? Is there an objection to VAR, is there an objection to the referee? Are there problems in our matches in Europe? No. There is a problem here; you cannot find another manager here. It leads to sociological chaos. Beşiktaş will win if it is good, and lose if it is bad. When serving in such positions, one should not fall into despair. For us, nothing is over. Beşiktaş will continue on its path. No one should expect us to come out and shout. When the Beşiktaş fan is just, they will be a symbol of all kinds of honesty. This visit has been meaningful for Turkish football," he stated.
