In a written statement from the Jerusalem Governorate, it was stated that Israeli authorities decided to extend the detention of Palestinian women's national football team player Halawani until Friday, June 5. The statement noted that Halawani was called for questioning yesterday at the Telpiyot Police Station in West Jerusalem, then was detained and brought to court, which decided to extend the detention period for several days. No information was provided regarding the reason for the footballer's summons or detention.

In a statement from the Palestinian Football Federation, it was announced that former women's national team player and Birzeit University student Natali Abu Diye was also detained yesterday following a raid on her residence.

The statement emphasized that Israel continues its restrictions on the movements of Palestinian athletes, recalling that Palestinian footballer Musab Abu Salim was stopped at the Al-Karameh border crossing between the occupied West Bank and Jordan while heading to Italy, and after being interrogated, was not allowed to leave the country.

In the occupied West Bank, since October 2023, there has been an increase in practices including killings, detentions, demolitions, and settlement activities.
