It has been reported that Israeli police detained two French gendarmes at the Pater Noster Church, which is classified as French territory, in occupied East Jerusalem.

France, which has turned a blind eye to the massacres in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, found itself face to face with Tel Aviv when the barrel of the gun turned towards Lebanon. Following the ground operation against Beirut, French President Emmanuel Macron called for a weapons embargo against Israel. After this call, the rising tension between Israel and France is escalating.

2 FRENCH GENDARMES DETAINED

According to recent reports in the Israeli press, tensions arose between the Israeli police and French gendarmes before the visit of French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot to the Pater Noster Church in East Jerusalem. The French gendarmes did not want the Israeli police to enter the Pater Noster Church, which is considered French territory. This led to a scuffle between the Israeli police and the French gendarmes. The Israeli police detained 2 French gendarmes and took them away in a police vehicle.
