Israel has released 20 of the Palestinians it detained in Gaza during its ongoing attacks since October 7, 2023. The released Palestinians were brought to the Gaza Strip by a bus belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

"THERE ARE PEOPLE WITH AMPUTATED LIMBS"

One of the prisoners released by Israel recounted the terrible days they experienced. The Palestinian prisoner said, "The conditions were very bad. There are sick people, there are people with amputated limbs."

NEGOTIATIONS FOR PRISONER EXCHANGE BETWEEN ISRAEL AND PALESTINE

Later, the Palestinians, who were taken to the Gaza European Hospital in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip and showed signs of fatigue, are undergoing health examinations at the hospital. Egyptian President Sisi stated on October 27 that they had offered a 2-day ceasefire for the exchange of "4 Israeli prisoners and some detained Palestinians" while Israel continued its attacks in the Gaza Strip, and that negotiations would be held in the next 10 days to turn the temporary ceasefire into a permanent one. Qatar's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majid al-Ansari mentioned during a press conference in Doha on October 29 that they were continuing their mediation efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Hamas had previously stated that it conditioned a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the areas it occupied in Gaza for a prisoner exchange. The Director of Mossad participated in the talks held in Doha on October 27-28 to resume negotiations for the prisoner exchange. It is reported that Hamas holds 101 Israeli prisoners.
