Israel Razes Home Of Suspected Palestinian Shooter

The Israeli army on Wednesday demolished the home of a Palestinian accused of injuring seven Israelis in a shooting attack in the West Bank late last year.





Israeli bulldozers brought down the home of Saleh Barghouthi in the village of Kubar, north of Ramallah.





Clashes erupted between Israeli forces and local residents, who tried to stop soldiers from razing the structure, according to an Anadolu Agency reporter.





One Palestinian was reportedly injured during the violence.





Israeli authorities accuse Barghouthi of carrying out a shooting attack in the West Bank in December, in which seven Israelis were injured.





Barghouthi was shot dead by Israeli forces in an Israeli raid in the occupied territory last year.





The Israeli army uses the emergency law of the British Mandate in 1945 to demolish Palestinian homes whose owners are accused of carrying out attacks against Israelis.





Israel's top court usually rejects Palestinians' appeals against the demolition of their homes. -
