Israel said, "We killed Yahya Sinwar," and the expected statement from Hamas has arrived.

Hamas announced that Yahya Sinvar was appointed as the new Political Bureau Chief, replacing Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Tehran, Iran, in August. Israeli media reported as breaking news that Hamas leader Sinvar has been killed.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz also announced that Sinvar has been killed, while a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said, "During IDF operations in Gaza, 3 terrorists were eliminated. The possibility that one of the terrorists is Yahya Sinvar (Hamas leader) is being investigated. At this stage, the identities of the terrorists cannot be determined." It was also noted that no evidence of hostages was found in the area where the attack took place.

EXPECTED STATEMENT FROM HAMAS

Following this development from Israel, the expected statement from Hamas also came. Hamas sources stated, "There are signals that Sinvar may be dead."

SINVAR HAS BEEN A TARGET OF ISRAEL FOR A LONG TIME

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported recently that Israel has bombed tunnels in areas where Sinvar was suspected to be hiding in recent months.

It was claimed that Israel promised "safe exit" from Gaza for Sinvar in exchange for the immediate release of all hostages last month. Hamas leader Yahya Sinvar was elected to replace Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated. Sinvar was known as the chief architect of the Israeli attack on October 7, 2023.
