Since the first day the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon came into effect on November 27, violations by the Israeli army have continued. The second article of the agreement stated, "Israel will not carry out any military attack on civilian, military, or state targets in Lebanon by land, sea, or air." THREAT TO LEBANON AND HEZBOLLAHRecently, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz issued a warning to Lebanon and Hezbollah. Katz claimed that if the ceasefire with Lebanon collapses, the army will no longer distinguish between Lebanon and Hezbollah. He asserted that they would "work to implement the ceasefire agreement" and suggested that Lebanon should give its army the authority to "keep Hezbollah beyond the Litani River and eliminate its infrastructure in those areas." Katz claimed that they have so far separated the Lebanese state from Hezbollah, stating, "If the ceasefire collapses with Hezbollah, the army will no longer distinguish between Lebanon and Hezbollah." HEZBOLLAH HAD FIRED WARNING SHOTSOn the 6th day of the ceasefire, as a result of the Israeli army's attacks on southern Lebanon, two people, including a state official, lost their lives, and many others were injured. In an attack on Hirmil in the northeast of the country, one Lebanese soldier was injured. Hezbollah, pointing to Israel's ceasefire violations, had fired rocket "warning" shots at the Ruveysat el-Alem area, which is under Israeli occupation in the Kafr Shuba Hills, stating that the rockets fell in an empty area. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced that they would respond "harshly" to the rocket attack carried out by Hezbollah for the first time since the ceasefire was reached in Lebanon, and subsequently, the Israeli army conducted airstrikes on numerous locations in southern Lebanon.
