A Palestinian youth was shot and injured by Israeli army while attempting to cross the Gaza-Israel security fence on Wednesday.
According to an Anadolu Agency's correspondent, the young man was injured in eastern Rafah city in southern part of the strip.
The injured was transferred to hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced in two separate statements the detention of two Palestinian youth, who allegedly attempted to cross the fence.
Since Mar. 30, Palestinians have held mass rallies along the security fence.
Protesters demand the "right of return" to their homes in historical Palestine from which they were driven in 1948 to make way for the new state of Israel.
They also demand an end to Israel's 11-year blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has brought the coastal territory -- along with its roughly two million inhabitants -- to the brink of humanitarian catastrophe. -
