The decision to close Istanbul Bilgi University, affiliated with Can Holding, to which TMSF was appointed as a trustee, has been officially reversed. In line with the decision published a few days ago, the university was planned to be shut down and its students transferred to Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSÜ). However, due to the lack of many departments and laboratory infrastructure at MSGSÜ, mass protests and intense reactions that had been ongoing for days have yielded results.
Following the struggle for the right to education by students and academics, Bilgi University was officially reopened with a new Presidential decree published in the Official Gazette. With this decision, the closure process was cancelled, ensuring that thousands of students can continue their education uninterruptedly in their own schools and departments.
