Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu congratulated two new ministers in the Presidential Cabinet. Mayor İmamoğlu congratulated Murat Kurum, who was reappointed as the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and who was also his rival in the local elections on March 31. "I WISH SUCCESS TO KURUM, WHOM WE COMPETED WITH IN THE LOCAL ELECTIONS"Imamoğlu, who shared a post on his social media account X, used the expression "I wish great success to Mr. Murat Kurum, whom we competed with in the local elections in Istanbul, in his reappointment as the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change." Mayor İmamoğlu also congratulated Kemal Memişoğlu, who was previously the Istanbul Provincial Health Director and was appointed as the Minister of Health by the Presidential decree in the Official Gazette. HE LOST THE ELECTION AGAINST İMAMOĞLUMurat Kurum was the candidate for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor from the AK Party and the People's Alliance in the local elections on March 31. Kurum, who competed with the current Mayor and the CHP's candidate for the IMM Mayor, Ekrem İmamoğlu, lost the election by receiving 39.59% of the votes. İmamoğlu, on the other hand, was reelected as the IMM Mayor by receiving 51.14% of the votes.
