The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which took action to pay its 3 billion lira SSI premium debt, received thanks from the AK Party. Speaking in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, AK Party Deputy Group Chairman Leyla Şahin Usta said, "Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has also made its application and started its initiative regarding this payment. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which has a budget of 500 billion lira, took action to pay its 3 billion lira SSI premium debt. AK Party Deputy Group Chairman Leyla Şahin Usta, thanked Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

AK Party's Usta: Why are they uncomfortable with this step?

Usta said the following: "We see once again that there is discomfort with the call for the payment of insurance premiums. Why are they uncomfortable with the step taken to pay these insurance premium debts? They claim that municipalities are being squeezed and their budgets are being restricted.

The total budget of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is over 500 billion lira. The SSI debt for 2024 is 3 billion 250 million lira. Paying a 3 billion lira debt from this 500 billion lira budget does not mean squeezing the municipality. This is a significant amount for the SSI.
