It has been revealed that emails titled 'Double payment refund' are the new method of scammers.

In recent days, millions of people are receiving emails titled 'double payment refund'. The Social Security Institution has announced that these emails are fraudulent and that such communications should not be trusted.

The Social Security Institution (SGK) has announced that there is no transaction called "double payment refund" within the institution and that emails sent with this name are fraudulent.

In a statement made by the SGK, it was stated that fake emails with the subject of "double payment refund" have been sent to citizens in recent days.

Citizens were warned not to trust such fake SMS and emails sent under the name of "Social Security Institution Customer Services" in the statement, and it was emphasized that such fake emails are designed to obtain personal information for fraudulent purposes.

"WE DO NOT HAVE SUCH A PAYMENT"

The statement included the following expressions:

"Our institution does not have any transaction called 'double payment refund'. In addition, SMS or emails sent by our institution are only for informational purposes. IBAN and personal information are not requested from individuals via email. When individuals receive a suspicious email, they can contact us through the Working Life Communication Center ALO 170 and CİMER or obtain information from our Social Security Provincial Directorates/Centers."
