A luggage trunk that has been waiting for three years in the impound lot in Antalya is drawing attention among the vehicles. The President of the Antalya Parking and Car Wash Association, Topçu, stated, "We have been waiting for the trunk since 2022. We take it with us wherever we move. It is registered to us, and no one is taking any action."
In Antalya, in the impound lot where thousands of abandoned vehicles are left to decay, a trunk lid identified as belonging to a repossessed vehicle has been waiting for 3 years.
Thousands of motorcycles and cars that have been banned from traffic for various reasons are towed to impound lots in Antalya. After a while, thousands of vehicles that should have been sold but were not are left to decay in the lot. Among the vehicles in the lot, some of which are luxury, there are cars that have not been sold for 20 years. A trunk lid belonging to a green vehicle with a license plate in the lot draws attention.
INTERVENTION CANNOT BE MADE DUE TO EMBEZZLEMENT
In an operation carried out in 2022 at the Mediterranean Industrial Site, the trunk lid was sent to the impound lot by tow truck when police teams, after querying the license plate, saw that there were numerous liens on the vehicle associated with the plate. The trunk lid, which has been kept in the impound lot and cannot be intervened due to embezzlement, has been waiting among the vehicles for 3 years. It is unknown what will happen to the trunk lid, which was moved to the newly established impound lot along with the vehicles during the relocation process last year.
"WE TAKE IT WHEREVER WE MOVE"
Mustafa Hakan Topçu, President of the Antalya Parking Lot and Car Wash Association, said, "Ridiculous events are happening in our country. The police teams conducting the operation at the industrial site see the trunk lid with a license plate. When they query the plate, it is delivered to the impound lot because there are numerous lien orders on the plate. We have been waiting for the trunk lid since 2022. We take it wherever we move. It is under our custody, and no one is taking action. We do not know how much longer the trunk lid will stay with us," he said.
