Citizens continue to monitor gasoline and diesel prices along with changes in Brent oil prices and currency rates. AN INCREASE IN DIESEL PRICES IS EXPECTEDStarting from midnight tonight, a 90 kuruş increase in diesel prices is expected, and with the price increase reflected at the pump, the price of diesel in Istanbul is expected to be sold at 43 lira 62 kuruş, while in Ankara it is expected to be sold at 43 lira 10 kuruş. HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities. EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGESAfter the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that explains price changes, the union announced that it would not share fuel price changes with citizens until the legal process is concluded.
