During the opening of the new legislative year of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), a handshake between MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and DEM Party officials marked the beginning of the event. Following this, it is expected that a delegation will go to İmralı after calls were made during group meetings for a meeting between DEM Party members and the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan.

NAMES TO BE INCLUDED IN THE DELEGATION HAVE BEEN REVEALED

According to the information obtained, the visit will take place within a week. It is stated that TBMM Deputy Speaker and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Van Deputy Pervin Buldan will be present at the visit, and if the process continues, these names may change in subsequent visits.

AN APPLICATION HAD BEEN MADE TO THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE

Bahçeli had also called for "establishing contact between İmralı and the DEM Party" during the group meeting on November 26. Immediately after this call, the Co-Chairs of the DEM Party submitted a petition to the Ministry of Justice to meet with Öcalan.
