A food engineer warned about salmon sold cheaply at the market, stating that bloated fish may have entered a post-mortem decomposition process, and urged consumers to be cautious.
Turkish salmon, sold at 50 TL per kilogram in the market, has come to the agenda with expert warnings. A food engineer drew attention to the appearance of the fish and gave important warnings to consumers.
DRAWING ATTENTION TO THE SWELLING OF THEIR BELLIES
The food engineer highlighted the abnormal swelling in the bellies of the salmon on sale, stating that this situation could indicate the post-mortem process of the fish. The expert said, "Their bellies are swollen like drums. These fish most likely died in the sea. Bacterial growth and gas accumulation have started after death."
POINTING OUT THE REASON FOR THE LOW PRICE
Addressing the reason for the fish being sold at a low price, the food engineer emphasized that consumers should be careful, saying, "This is the reason for being cheap."
