PRODUCERS EXPERIENCED DIFFICULT MOMENTS
Following the intense hailstorm, floods occurred in the highlands within a short time. The tents used by cheese producers for shelter and production were flooded, and the producers had a hard time due to the water accumulating in the area.
ANIMALS ALSO AFFECTED
Small livestock were also negatively affected by the rain. Producers made intense efforts to prevent the animals, which got wet due to rain and hail, from being harmed by the cold weather. While trying to protect their animals, the producers also struggled to drain the water that flooded the tents.
Producers engaged in animal husbandry and tulum cheese production under challenging conditions in the highlands stated that the sudden hailstorm caught them unprepared.
