An alcoholic man who attacked passersby in Antalya and seriously injured one person by stabbing him in the chest was caught by the police after his escape route was tracked step by step through security cameras. The suspect was arrested by the court to which he was brought.
An extraordinary incident occurred in Antalya. The event took place yesterday around 12:00 PM in Fatih Sultan Mehmet Park located on Gazi Boulevard in the Ulus neighborhood of the Kepez district, where a man drinking alcohol on a bench began to verbally and physically attack passersby.
STABBED PASSERSBY
The man, who pulled out a knife and attacked citizens walking on the sidewalk, stabbed Ali Haydar Ö. (58), who was riding a scooter at that moment. A brief struggle ensued between Ali Haydar Ö. and the man who suddenly attacked him with a knife. During the struggle, nearby citizens rushed to help the man who collapsed to the ground from the knife wounds.
WIPED THE KNIFE ON THE GRASS
The intoxicated man wiped the knife he used in the incident on the grass of the park before fleeing the scene. While citizens tried to help Ali Haydar Ö., who was seriously injured by the knife wound to his chest, the situation was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center, and police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams that arrived at the given address transported the unconscious and seriously injured Özyıldırım to the hospital by ambulance.

The teams from the Kepez District Police Department's Crime Investigation and Prevention Bureau consulted with witnesses to the incident and conducted a security camera examination in the area. The Crime Investigation and Prevention Bureau teams initiated work to capture the suspect identified as Sedat D. from the security camera footage.
By examining dozens of security cameras along the escape route of the suspect after the incident, the Crime Investigation and Prevention Bureau teams tracked down Sedat D. in a short time. After being taken to the police station, Sedat D. was arrested by the magistrate's court he was brought to today after his statement was taken.
Meanwhile, the escape of Sedat D., who attacked four unknown people passing by with a knife and seriously injured one person, was captured by the security camera of nearby businesses. The footage showed Sedat D. walking down the street with a knife in hand in a relaxed manner.
