Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasized that Iran's military-oriented nuclear program is a "red line," expressing concern over tensions in the Middle East. Speaking with his Iranian counterpart, Tajani said nuclear activities could trigger a dangerous arms race in the region. Noting that disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz could threaten food security, Tajani called on Tehran regarding diplomacy and Hezbollah.

In a statement on social media, Tajani noted that discussions covered the conflicts in Iran and the overall situation in the Middle East. The Italian minister stressed that preventing a broader crisis is critically important and called for accelerating diplomatic efforts.

Italy highlighted the need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for energy and trade. Tajani warned that disruptions on this route could negatively impact food security, especially in Africa.
