Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu responded to journalists' question "Did the police entering the headquarters hurt you?" Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Since the founding of the CHP, doors have never been closed when any deputy goes to the headquarters. Why don't you think this way?"
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, reinstated as the Chairman of the CHP by a decision of absolute nullity, appeared before the press in Ankara as part of a holiday greeting program. Here, he responded to journalists' question, "Did the police entering the headquarters hurt you?" Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Since the founding of the CHP, no deputy has ever had the doors closed when going to the headquarters. Why don't you think that way?"
"DOORS HAVE NEVER BEEN CLOSED TO ANY MP IN CHP HISTORY"
Kılıçdaroğlu used the following statements: "Everyone must comply with the laws; I will explain all the details in the public meeting. No deputy has the doors closed when going to the headquarters. Why don't you think that way? When a CHP group goes to the CHP headquarters, how can the headquarters' door be closed to those deputies?"
"THERE IS A MENTAL BLOCK"
In its history, the door of the CHP headquarters has never been closed, and stones have never been thrown from the CHP headquarters. A party's doors cannot be closed to the people or to deputies. Such a thing does not exist. It is not in our history. What does closing mean? On what grounds is it closed? Nobody asks this question. There is a mental block. You open the door, offer tea and coffee. When humane behaviors exist, what is the logic of hurting each other? It is something unprecedented in the history of the Republic.
"WHAT BUSINESS DOES ADNAN BEKER'S BUS HAVE THERE?"
What business does Adnan Beker's bus and his militants have there? Most of them are not party members. To throw stones, to cause incidents, to harm the CHP? How do they trust them, how do they let them into the party? What business does a person with moral issues have at the CHP headquarters? What business does a person who says 'I did not vote in the presidential election' have there? If you follow their logic, this is the picture that emerges."
HE CLOSED THE DOOR TO ÖZEL'S CALL
In response to CHP leader Özgür Özel's call "Let 2 million CHP members elect our Chairman," Kılıçdaroğlu said, "How the chairman will be elected is clear. You cannot bypass the congress. Congresses elect the chairmen."
Regarding the 'absolute nullity' decision, Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "I am not a party to the case; I don't know what the case is or what the process is. We complied with the decision. There are many rumors; everyone is saying something."
"IF IT WERE UP TO ME, I WOULD GO TO THE CONGRESS TOMORROW MORNING"
Kılıçdaroğlu, stating that determining the congress date is not in his hands, said, "I am not a lawyer. If it were up to me, I would go to the congress tomorrow morning. We are discussing the process with lawyers. We must of course comply with the judiciary's decision. The congress in the CHP will be held after the appeal at the Court of Cassation is concluded and the precautionary measure is lifted."
WILL HE BE A CANDIDATE IF A CONGRESS IS HELD?
Responding to the question 'Will you be a candidate if a congress is held?', Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Let the congress first take place, let's clear the way, God willing, and then. Don't worry at all."
