Due to heavy rainfall lasting about 30 minutes in Kuşadası, streams overflowed, and streets in the neighborhoods of Davutlar and Güzelçamlı were submerged. While there were no casualties, some vehicles were swept away by the flood, the Söke–Kuşadası ring road was closed to traffic, and teams are continuing their work in the area.
The heavy rainfall in Aydın's Kuşadası district quickly turned into a flood. Due to the intense rain that lasted approximately 30 minutes, streams overflowed, streets and avenues were submerged, and some vehicles were swept away by the floodwaters.
STREAMS OVERFLOWED, NEIGHBORHOODS WERE SUBMERGED
The downpour that negatively affected life across Aydın caused serious flooding, especially in the neighborhoods of Davutlar and Güzelçamlı in Kuşadası. With the overflow of unregulated streams, many streets and avenues experienced water inundation.
VEHICLES WERE SWEPT AWAY
While there were no casualties during the flood, it was observed that some parked and moving vehicles were swept away by the floodwaters. Those moments were recorded by citizens using their mobile phone cameras.
ROADS WERE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC
Flooding also occurred on the Söke–Kuşadası ring road and at the Garaj Junction, which are under the responsibility of the highways. For safety reasons, these roads were temporarily closed to vehicle traffic.
TEAMS ON THE GROUND
Teams from the municipality and relevant institutions are continuing their water drainage, cleaning, and damage assessment efforts in the region. Authorities warned citizens to be cautious and take precautions against possible new rainfall.
