Kuwait, Palestine Ambassadors Hail Anadolu Agency On Centennial

Anadolu Agency, Turkey's top news source, marks 100th anniversary on April 6, 2020.

The ambassadors to Turkey of Kuwait and Palestine have extended their warm congratulations to Anadolu Agency on its 100th anniversary.

"In my name and on behalf of the state of Kuwait, I am pleased to extend my warmest congratulations to the management of Anadolu Agency and all its employees on the occasion of its centennial," Kuwaiti Ambassador Ghassan al-Zawawi said in a letter to the agency, Turkey's top news source.

The ambassador lauded Anadolu Agency's coverage of world news and news concerning Kuwait, particularly the Kuwaiti Embassy's activities in Turkey, as well as covering developments in Turkish-Kuwaiti relations "in a clear, accurate, neutral, objective and expeditious manner."

"Without a doubt, Anadolu Agency was and still is keen to report the facts in complete transparency without distorting them or seeking a private interest," he said, praising the agency's ethics and efficiency.

"Once again, I thank the distinguished efforts that Anadolu Agency staff was providing and still provide us with," al-Zawawi said. "I also thank these journalists (unidentified soldiers) who work in places we are not able to be, especially in the time of the coronavirus."

For his part, Palestinian Ambassador to Ankara Faed Mustafa extended his congratulations to the management and all employees of Anadolu Agency.

Marking Anadolu Agency's centennial, the ambassador praised its "one hundred years of giving and pioneering in providing honest information and correct news for its followers from all over the world."

Mustafa continued: "Over time it has turned into one of the most important news agencies in the world thanks to its credibility and thanks to the diversity of languages in which it publishes."

The Palestinian ambassador wished Anadolu Agency more success, prosperity and development in the years to come.

Turkey's flagship Anadolu Agency is celebrating its 100 anniversary, as it was founded on April 6, 1920 – 17 days before the Turkish Grand National Assembly convened for the first time.

Since its foundation, Anadolu Agency has worked to disseminate factual news across the globe with confidence, impartiality, professionalism, and speed.

It is viewed as one of the world's most prestigious news agencies, currently producing news in 13 languages and serving 6,000 subscribers in 93 countries with at least 3,000 employees stationed in 100 countries. -
