The chairman of Libya's Presidential Council instructed the Libyan army on Wednesday to secure the country's borders with Chad following the death of Idriss Deby, Chad's longtime president.
According to a council statement, Mohammad Menfi ordered the Libyan army to protect Libya's southern borders with Chad to respond to any hostile acts on the borders.
Deby was killed on Tuesday in clashes with insurgents in northern Chad one day after announcing his victory in elections for a sixth term.
