Famous artist Sezen Aksu became the target of telephone scammers. The scammers, posing as the Deputy Mayor of Beyoğlu, called Aksu and claimed to be collecting donations for "orphaned children," and managed to take 220,000 TL from Aksu. When her assistant realized the situation, they contacted Beyoğlu Municipality and learned that there was no such campaign.

The scammers who called Sezen Aksu as the Deputy Mayor of Beyoğlu Municipality claimed that they were collecting donations for "orphaned children" and took 220,000 TL from the famous artist. Minik Serçe went to the police station and filed a complaint against the scammers.

SHE SAID SHE WOULD DONATE 420,000 LIRA

According to Dilek Yaman Demir's report on Ekol TV, the 70-year-old master artist Sezen Aksu became a victim of phone scammers. The scammers, who called Aksu as the Deputy Mayor of Beyoğlu Municipality, mentioned that they were collecting donations for "orphaned children". Aksu accepted this offer and agreed on 420,000 TL with the callers. She initially sent 220,000 TL to the account.

ASSISTANT'S SUSPICION REVEALED THE TRUTH

Aksu's assistant became suspicious and contacted Beyoğlu Municipality. However, the municipality officials stated that there was no such campaign. When Aksu realized that she had been scammed, she went to the police station. Aksu's assistant gave a statement as a witness.
