As calculations for civil servant salary increases begin to clarify with the first three-month inflation data, the total raise rate in July, including the inflation differential and collective bargaining increase, is expected to be around 12.8 percent.

While millions of civil servants and retirees await the salary increase to be made in July, inflation data for the first half of 2026 has begun to reveal clues about the raise rate. According to the first three-month inflation figures announced, the raise rate has already exceeded 10 percent.

FIRST 3-MONTH INFLATION EXCEEDS 10 PERCENT

According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute;

  • January: 4.84%
  • February: 2.96%
  • March: 1.94%

With these figures, the three-month cumulative raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees was calculated at approximately 10.03%. With the addition of April, May, and June data, this rate is expected to approach 17%.

APRIL INFLATION EXPECTED AROUND 3 PERCENT

According to economists' expectations, inflation in April is projected to be around 3%. If this estimate materializes, the four-month inflation is calculated to rise above 13%.

According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey survey;

  • May: 1.82%
  • June: 1.52%

If these expectations materialize, the total inflation for the first 6 months of 2026 will be approximately 17.15%.

CALCULATION FOR CIVIL SERVANT RAISE BECOMES CLEAR

Civil servants and retired civil servants had received an 11% raise in the first half of the year due to a collective agreement. Accordingly, the inflation difference is expected to be approximately 5.5%. When the 7% collective agreement raise to be applied in July is added, the total raise rate for civil servants and retired civil servants is estimated to be around 12.8%.

WHAT WILL THE MINIMUM RETIREE PENSION BE?

The minimum retiree pension, currently at 20 thousand lira, is expected to rise to around 23 thousand 400 lira according to the approximately 17% raise scenario. However, whether a legal regulation will be made will also be decisive for this figure to become final.

EYES ON THE LAST 3 MONTH DATA

Inflation data for April, May, and June will be decisive for the final raise rate to be applied in July. With the new data to be announced, the salary increase for millions will become clear.
