Mehmet Özhaseki resigned from his position 5 hours after his statement "We will continue working."

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Erdogan, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca and Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Mehmet Özhaseki have been dismissed. With the change made; Kemal Memişoğlu was appointed in place of Koca, and Murat Kurum was appointed in place of Özhaseki.

While the appointment was made in accordance with Articles 104 and 106 of the Constitution, an interesting claim was made about the background of this Cabinet change. Since last Friday, there have been rumors about changes in the Cabinet, and it was being discussed that some ministers could be replaced. While it was wondered whether the appointment decisions would be published in the Official Gazette for about a week, an interesting development took place yesterday evening.



ÖZHASEKI SAID "I REQUESTED MY RESIGNATION"



Former Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Mehmet Özhaseki announced his resignation himself through a statement he made on social media. Özhaseki, while indirectly conveying that he also left politics in his statement, said, "I will continue to serve as much as my health allows in the family foundation we will establish in the future. Of course, my support will continue for every job that is good for my country."

Özhaseki had attended the Local Governments Consultation and Evaluation Meeting, which President Erdogan also attended, during the day. He shared the message "Under the leadership of our President, we will continue to work for our country and our nation" on his social media account regarding the meeting. Just five hours after this message, he announced that he resigned from his position.
