Message from Erdoğan on minimum wage: We will not remain indifferent.

President Erdoğan made statements at his party's 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress in Bursa. Giving messages regarding the economy, President Erdoğan spoke about the new minimum wage.

ERDOĞAN'S MESSAGE ON MINIMUM WAGE: "WE WILL NOT REMAIN INDIFFERENT IF THERE IS A DEVIATION IN INFLATION"

President Erdoğan stated, "If there is a very serious deviation in the inflation rate, of course, we will not remain indifferent to this, and we will make the necessary evaluations. Neither personally nor as the government and the People's Alliance, we are turning a deaf ear to the grievances of our citizens. We are aware of every difficulty experienced. We know the demands and problems of all 85 million citizens very well, regardless of what job they do. Our politics is a politics of service and achievements. It is a politics of being transparent and honest with the nation. We do not want to disappoint this noble nation. We think not of our personal interests but of the interests of all of Turkey."

"OUR PRIORITY IS TO REDUCE INFLATION"

Those who made extravagant promises left behind irreparable damages. We said we would do our best for Turkey under all circumstances. We have not compromised from this stance. The main goal of our economic program is to compensate for the loss of welfare as soon as possible. The priority of the program we implemented is to reduce inflation.

"BOYCOTT PRODUCTS WITH EXORBITANT PRICES"

Inflation is essentially the mother of all evils. Boycott products with exorbitant prices. The value of unsold products diminishes.

"WE WILL LAUNCH A SOCIAL HOUSING PROJECT"

Housing and rent prices play a very important role in the increase of inflation. We have seen the impact of these factors on inflation in 2024. We plan to launch a social housing mobilization in our country starting from the summer when the construction activities in the earthquake-affected areas will largely be completed. We will produce housing that our citizens with fixed incomes can purchase at prices like 1+1. With these, we will hopefully take steps to make our citizens with fixed incomes homeowners. We will especially allocate these to young people who are starting new families. Thus, the bubble created in housing and rent prices will begin to deflate on its own.

"WE WILL DEFINITELY LOWER INTEREST RATES"

We will definitely start to lower interest rates. 2025 will be the year of signs for this. Interest rates must fall for inflation to decrease as well. This is essential for us. In addition to monetary policy, we will also activate other tools at our disposal to hopefully bring inflation down to the necessary level.

"INFLATION TARGET WILL BE ACHIEVED IN 2025"

Unless there is an extraordinary development in our region and the world, we have no doubt that we will achieve the inflation target in 2025. We want to increase the purchasing power of our entire nation by reducing inflation, raising the welfare level, and keeping prices stable. By completing 2025 in line with our goals, we will bury the difficulties of recent years in history.
