Mexico's annual industrial production increased 3.8% in June year-on-year, the country's statistical authority revealed on Thursday.
The market expectation for the figure was to come in at 3.6%, while industrial activity in May rose 3.3% year-on-year.
On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.1% in June. In May, industrial output also increased 0.1% month-on-month, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
In May, the mining industry expanded 2.1%, while construction sector grew 0.3% on a monthly level, INEGI said in a statement.
Annually, manufacturing industries grew 5.2%, followed by energy with 3.8%, and mining and construction with 2.2%. -
