MHP's İlyas Topsakal: When the time comes, everyone will understand Bahçeli.

The call made by MHP General Chairman Devlet Bahçeli during his party's group meeting a few weeks ago regarding PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan, "Let him speak at the DEM Party group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Let him proclaim that terrorism has completely ended and the organization has been dissolved," has sparked a new debate in politics. Following Bahçeli's call, the MHP's daily post at the same time, "The time is up, the matter is the homeland," has also drawn attention.

STATEMENT FROM MHP MEMBERS ON "BAHÇELİ"

The meetings organized by the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) under the theme "Together Towards the Crescent Turkey" were held yesterday in Elazığ, Malatya, Bingöl, İzmir, Manisa, Aydın, Samsun, Sinop, and Ordu. MHP officials spoke about Devlet Bahçeli's call regarding Öcalan at these meetings.

Speaking at the meeting held in Elazığ, MHP Deputy Chairman Yaşar Yıldırım said: "Devlet Bahçeli is not in the mindset of 'If I make this move, MHP will gain votes or lose votes.' He is in the mindset of 'If I make this move, I will not give up land, the integrity of the state and the homeland will continue. If I have to suffer, I will suffer. But if I don't make this move, Turkey will lose land. Then what should I do with the government?' And now, of course, there is a slogan that expresses this understanding. Devlet Bahçeli is not deceiving anyone. He tells all of you, he tells all of us. 'My political understanding is; first my country and my nation, then my party and myself,' he says."

MHP Deputy Chairman Ilyas Topsakal also made statements at the meeting in Samsun. Topsakal used the following expressions: "When the time comes, everyone will understand Devlet Bahçeli. It is evident that the world is becoming more chaotic every day, and this situation continues to surround us rapidly. Weapons are now amassed in every region and positioned in a way that could turn into a major conflict at any moment. I cannot explain the theories here in a short time, but the Turkish state and nation must be secure. Therefore, alongside different positions in foreign policy and the strategy of maintaining armed forces, internal security must also be ensured.

For this reason, being a nation, being united, and sharing the same feelings and emotions is becoming an increasingly important phenomenon. Therefore, the idea of internal unity stands before us as the most important strategic stance, just as Atatürk said. We define the nation this way. For this reason, our elders included the Kurds within the National Pact when the Republic was established and determined our borders accordingly. Listen carefully to the words of our leader. When he says the National Pact is a right; his references to the National Pact in every speech are not coincidental, but rather a manifestation of profound knowledge.
