While fluctuations in Brent crude oil prices continue, gasoline and diesel prices are also varying with news of discounts and price increases. As of midnight, gasoline prices increased by 1 lira and 20 kuruş, resulting in a price rise at the pump. Following this increase, gasoline is being sold for 42 lira and 75 kuruş per liter in Istanbul and 43 lira and 8 kuruş per liter in Ankara.

Citizens continue to monitor gasoline and diesel prices along with changes in Brent oil prices and currency exchange rates.

THE TABLE HAS CHANGED QUIETLY

A silent increase of 1 lira and 20 kuruş in gasoline prices occurred at midnight, which was reflected at the pump. With this price increase, gasoline is sold for 42 lira and 75 kuruş in Istanbul, 43 lira and 8 kuruş in Ankara, and 43 lira and 54 kuruş in Izmir.

HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?

Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities.

EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGES

After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that announces changes in prices, the union stated that it would not share fuel price changes with citizens until the legal process is completed.
