Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a joint press conference with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi in Ankara.
Minister Fidan provided striking information while evaluating the latest developments in Syria. Minister Fidan stated, "From the moment the Assad regime fell in Syria, we discussed the issue with my dear brother and the Jordanian government. We also discussed the same issue with our partners in Europe. We agree on the establishment of an inclusive government in Syria. We reached an agreement with my Jordanian counterpart regarding the regional support for Syria and ensuring stability. Another topic we consulted on with my dear brother was how we would develop Syria and what steps we would take. We confirmed our commitments regarding transportation, agriculture, and food security, and we created a roadmap.
"WE DISCUSSED ADDITIONAL STEPS THAT CAN BE TAKEN REGARDING GAZA"
On the other hand, we held discussions against the threat of ISIS. We discussed where ISIS might launch attacks. At the subsequent level, we talked about the situation of other countries in the region, especially Iraq. We discussed the urgent need for the former regime in Syria to disarm its armed forces and to cleanse the region of terrorism. We consulted on how we can further assist Iraq, which has borders with both Syria and Jordan. We held consultations on how to maintain stability in Iraq. We discussed how we, as regional countries, can contribute after the ceasefire. The indispensable issue of Gaza, the situation at Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Israel's ongoing genocide were discussed with my dear brother. We consulted on additional steps that can be taken regarding Gaza. Our bilateral relations continue positively from defense industry to trade. We evaluated that there could be an economic opportunity arising from the situation in Syria.
"WE WILL CONTINUE OUR STRUGGLE AGAINST PKK/YPG"
ISIS is a poison for Muslim communities. We are fighting against ISIS and its derivatives. As long as organizations like ISIS exist, they pave the way for imperial powers to enter our lands. It becomes a contractor that rushes to serve everyone. We will continue our struggle against this deviant organization that only perpetrates violence and whose orders are unclear. We will continue our struggle against the PKK, which exploits the noble feelings of our Kurdish brothers.
"THE EMPIRE OF VIOLENCE IS ABOUT TO COLLAPSE"
The empire of violence of the PKK is about to collapse. The role attributed to YPG as a guardian, especially by the Americans, is being used as an excuse to fight against ISIS. If our Kurdish brothers are being exploited through PKK/YPG to serve another policy, we will not allow that either."
