Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan was a guest at the AA Editorial Desk. Minister Işıkhan made statements regarding the newborn baby gang and current developments. Işıkhan announced that inspections have been initiated by the ministry upon a request from the prosecutor's office.
Işıkhan made statements regarding the "Newborn Gang." He stated that two hospitals have been canceled as part of the ongoing investigation and that payments to the hospitals whose licenses have been revoked have been halted.
"WE HAVE TERMINATED THE CONTRACTS"
We have terminated the contracts. We have conducted and continue to conduct an examination regarding invoices and financial matters within the framework of the legislation. We have completed our investigations. Based on the reports of our inspectors, we have completed the process for two hospitals. We have terminated the contracts.
If there are payments made to private hospitals, we are collecting the penalties under the contract retroactively with interest based on the identified issues. We are conducting our investigations within the scope of risk analysis. We are carrying out on-site inspections. The inhumane incident came to light following a complaint received by CIMER. We meticulously follow up on every issue reported to us by our citizens through ALO 170 and CIMER.
"WE WILL ACCOUNT FOR EVERY SINGLE CENT"
I want to emphasize that we will be following up on this issue. Until today, we have tracked every cent of the SGK, and from now on, we will account for every single cent.
THERE IS A PERCEPTION THAT UNNECESSARY TESTS ARE BEING CONDUCTED IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS, WILL THERE BE A NEW STUDY REGARDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRIVATE HOSPITALS AND SGK?
Our inspectors are conducting routine screenings. Sometimes, when we identify an irregularity on-site, we collect penalties for improperly requested expenses from private hospitals as per the contract terms.
Our inspectors act based on reports and complaints, and sometimes they conduct their examinations in a planned manner. We evaluate all healthcare service providers, especially private hospitals, within this scope.
We are also receiving support from the GSS General Directorate. Our inspection department continues its work in guiding the electronic environment where invoices and prescriptions are located. We will utilize artificial intelligence to determine where there are privileges, deviations, or errors in the social security institution's program.
"SERVICES WILL BE ON THE AGENDA SOON"
By utilizing artificial intelligence, reviewing millions of prescriptions will give us a margin of error, and when irregular applications are observed due to these deviations, we will be able to easily monitor them. This is a very good system. Services will be brought to the agenda soon. I especially request our citizens to report to us through ALO 170 and CIMER when they encounter situations of unregistered practices.
THERE IS A 30% DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PENSIONS OF THOSE RETIRING IN 2024 AND THOSE RETIRING IN 2025, IS THERE A STUDY TO ELIMINATE THIS DIFFERENCE?
Among the questions we receive from the public, we discussed this in the EKK; during periods of high inflation, such issues can come to the agenda. Differences may arise regarding the pension allocation rates. We do not intend to make significant changes to the retirement system. We cannot intervene alone. I know that our other ministries are sensitive about this issue. It is necessary to examine this issue carefully; we have faced such situations before. As SGK and the Ministry, we need more production and work from our employees. Retirement is a right. After completing a certain period of work, we will all retire. My request from citizens is to work while they are healthy, to produce more for the economic growth of our country. The longer they stay in the system, the higher their retirement pensions will be.
Of course, we are not in a position to intervene in the preferences of our citizens. Each citizen can easily see this through e-Government. They can submit their application and gain the right to a retirement pension. I kindly request them to prefer to stay in the system and work. Our citizens can actually work; there will also be a loss of skilled labor. The market is so dynamic that we can predict that the labor shortage will be filled quickly. Even our President works with such dedication.
In Germany, people pay premiums for 40 years and receive retirement pensions for 20 years; in our case, it is the opposite: they pay premiums for 20 years and receive pensions for 40 years. The more premiums we pay and the higher we show our earnings subject to premiums, the higher our retirement pension will be.
If we prefer to retire in a short time, of course, our retirement pension will be low. We have raised the lowest retirement pension to 12,500 TL; it is mistakenly believed that a large portion of our retirees receives 12,500 TL, but no, there are citizens receiving retirement pensions of 50,000, 60,000, or 80,000 TL.
