Minister Memişoğlu explained how the baby killer 'Newborn Gang' was dismantled.

Understanding the urgent cases of babies, they were transferred to the neonatal units of private hospitals they had previously agreed upon, leading to deaths. The facts revealed in the investigation regarding the gang have caused public outrage. In the investigation, 22 people were arrested, and the licenses of the mentioned hospitals were revoked. Minister Memişoğlu, who made important statements regarding the baby killer 'Neonatal Gang' that has become a hot topic in Turkey, said, "The first report came to CİMER in March 2023, and we dismantled a gang with the CİMER application."

Regarding the incident that deeply shook Turkey, President Erdoğan met today with Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu and Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç. Minister Memişoğlu stated that President Erdoğan instructed them to "do whatever is necessary." We continued inspections in September, October, and November 2023. We placed them under secret surveillance in May 2023. We continued inspections. In December 2023, we assigned inspectors. The Ministry of Interior, Justice, and Health worked with great confidentiality from the moment the first report came in. Once the evidence arrived, the licenses began to be revoked. The financial branch sent the evidence on September 3, 2024. We dismantled the gang with the CİMER application. The life of our people, our babies, is more valuable than anything else. It is our duty to catch such rotten apples. 22 people were arrested. They are not our healthcare workers. They are our rotten apples. We started the process secretly. We dismantled the gang. This incident has been on our agenda for 1.5 years. Our esteemed President gave the instruction to take necessary actions. We are the good ones fighting against the bad. Our esteemed President instructed me and the Justice Minister to do whatever is necessary. On September 28, we formed a commission, inspected all neonatal units, and conducted audits. The 22 arrested individuals threatened the prosecutor to lift their detention status. That person was also arrested. This operation took place 5.5 months ago. On May 5, 2023, technical surveillance of these individuals was conducted at our request. This was a major operation to dismantle a gang.
