The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, evaluated the "Market Participants Survey" announced by the Central Bank. Noting that inflation continues to decline, Şimşek pointed out that the target for the end of the year is 27.1%. Mehmet Şimşek stated: The improvement in expectations continues with disinflation, and the annual inflation expectation for 12 months ahead has been decreasing for 15 months. The annual inflation decreased by 20 points in 2024. According to the Market Participants Survey, inflation is expected to decline by another 17 points to 27.1% by the end of 2025. It is crucial for the improvement in expectations to continue in order to reduce rigidities. We will support the fight against inflation not only with our demand-side policies but also with supply-side measures in areas such as food, housing, and energy.
