Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated in his speech at the "Role of Rehabilitation Centers in Special Education and Investigation of Educational Qualifications Turkey Meetings" program held in Antalya, hosted by the Special Education Confederation, that 'record amnesty' is on their agenda. Minister Tekin emphasized the government's support for education in his speech, saying, "We have 3,284 private institutions within the confederation. We have approximately 700,000 students and 60,000 staff. We are making public support payments totaling around 30 billion lira." "THERE CAN BE SOME PROBLEMS"Stating that they are focused on solving the problems in special education, Tekin said, "We have implemented a program called the Turkey Century Education Model. Our new curriculum considers all 18 million of our students as special. There can be some problems in special education as well. Our general directorate is working on this, and we will implement the regulations soon." BIOMETRIC IDENTITY VERIFICATION, RECORD AMNESTY, EDUCATIONAL FEESMinister Tekin, who said, "One bad example puts everyone under suspicion," stated, "We need to take measures to eliminate the negativities in this area. We have initiated the biometric identity verification process. Another issue is record amnesty. After biometrics, the steps regarding this issue will be based on a healthier foundation. We are in the preparation process for some matters. We are also working on record amnesty. Every year, we face issues regarding the educational fees to be paid for children. It would be very good if we index the fees to a fixed indicator with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance."
