Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu issued a final warning to drivers regarding the mandatory winter tire application that will begin on December 1. Uraloğlu also stated that those who do not comply with the regulation will face a fine of 4,000 lira.

Expressing that inspections will be carried out strictly, Minister Uraloğlu said, "The tread depth of winter tires must be at least 4 millimeters for trucks, tractors, tankers, and buses; and at least 1.6 millimeters for vans, minibuses, and passenger cars. The tread depth is measured from the grooves closest to the center of the tire tread. Winter tires must have the (M+S) marking or the (M+S) marking along with a snowflake symbol, or just a snowflake symbol. A fine of 4,069 lira will be imposed on those who do not comply with the rules."
