Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced that testing and commissioning works for the Arnavutkoy-Halkali section of the Halkali-Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe Metro Line are nearing completion. With the completion of the line, the 69-kilometer ring line will become Turkey's longest metro.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that the work on the Arnavutkoy-Halkali section of the Halkali-Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe Metro Line is nearing completion, saying, "We are approaching the final stages of testing and commissioning on the Arnavutkoy-Halkali Line."

Minister Uraloglu made a written statement regarding the ongoing work on the Arnavutkoy-Halkali Line, the final link of the Halkali-Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe Metro Project. Stating that they planned the Halkali-Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe Metro Project in two sections as the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Metro Line and the Istanbul Airport-Halkali Metro Line, Minister Uraloglu said, "We opened the Kagithane-Istanbul Airport section of the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport line on January 22, 2023, and the section between Kagithane and Gayrettepe on January 29, 2024. We also put into service the 14-kilometer section between Cargo Terminal and Arnavutkoy Hospital of the Istanbul Airport-Halkali Line on March 19, 2024."

'WORK CONTINUES ON THE 17.5-KILOMETER ARNAVUTKOY-HALKALI LINE'

Noting that they are approaching the end of work on the 17.5-kilometer Arnavutkoy-Halkali section, Minister Uraloglu said, "We have completed the finishing work at the stations, and we are currently putting the final touches on landscaping and environmental arrangements. We are also close to completing testing and commissioning. Once this section is finished, under the Halkali-Istanbul Airport-Gayrettepe Metro Project, we will have completed a 69-kilometer ring line, which will be Turkey's longest and fastest metro line entirely underground and one of the longest in the world."

'TRAVEL TIME BETWEEN HALKALI AND GAYRETTEPE WILL BE REDUCED TO 57 MINUTES'

Uraloglu reported that with the full operation of the line, integration will be provided at the Fenertepe station with the Vezneciler-Sultangazi-Fenertepe Metro, at the Kayaşehir station with the Bakırköy-Kirazlı-Başakşehir-Kayaşehir Metro, at the Olimpiyatköy station with the Ataköy-İkitelli-Olimpiyat Metro, and at the Halkalı Stadı station with the Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey-Bahçeşehir-Esenyurt Metro. Stating that at Halkalı station, the line will integrate with the Yenikapı-Kirazlı-Halkalı Metro and MARMARAY, Minister Uraloglu said, "Thanks to these integrations, travel time between Halkalı and Istanbul Airport will be reduced to 30 minutes, between Halkalı and Göktürk to 43 minutes, between Halkalı and Kağıthane to 54 minutes, between Halkalı and Gayrettepe to 57 minutes, between Küçükçekmece and Kemerburgaz to 50 minutes, and between Başakşehir (Metrokent) and Kağıthane to 48 minutes."
