The Ministry of Interior announced that the Mayor of Akçakoca, Fikret Albayrak, has been suspended from duty as a temporary measure following his arrest in the investigation for the crime of 'extortion by coercion.'
MINISTRY MADE A STATEMENT
In the statement made by the Ministry, it was said, 'Upon the arrest of the Mayor of Akçakoca, Düzce, Fikret Albayrak, by the decision of the Düzce 2nd Criminal Court of Peace dated 23.05.2026 and numbered 2026/274 inquiry, within the scope of the investigation conducted for the crime of "extortion by coercion," he has been suspended from duty as a temporary measure by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipality Law No. 5393.'
