French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the law banning mobile phone use in middle schools has come into effect, aiming to protect children from the negative effects of screens. Macron stated that the regulation will be implemented starting from the new school year beginning September 1, delivering the message, "We cannot wait any longer." The law had been approved by the French National Assembly, the Senate, and subsequently the Constitutional Council.

In a statement made on his social media account on the US-based company X, Macron stated that they "cannot wait any longer" to protect children from the negative effects of screens, and announced that the law regarding the mobile phone ban in high schools has come into force.
French President Macron noted that the law will be valid from the new academic year starting on September 1.
THE CONSTITUTIONAL COUNCIL HAD ALSO APPROVED IT
The French government had previously announced that they planned to implement the regulation on mobile phone use, which has been in effect in primary and middle schools since 2018, for high schools as well starting from the new academic year.
The law, adopted by the French National Assembly and the Senate, had also been approved by the Constitutional Council.
